Should I use WordPress to make a site if I want to have a PayPal shopping cart?

Question by momochi: Should I use WordPress to make a site if I want to have a PayPal shopping cart?
I’ve heard from some that because WordPress wasn’t made for shopping carts, it can have issues, but from others I hear it’s a simple matter of copy & paste. I tried adding a test button on one of my WordPress sites but it didn’t work. Should I figure out how to make it work on WordPress, or just make an HTML/CSS site?

WordPress is mainly for like blogging. To make a more efficient website make it out in HTML/CSS. The reason being is that the paypal shopping card is done in HTML code.

I assume you already have the code for the PayPal widget and counter? These are usually supplied by the company providing them in a form you can copy and then paste into your WP blog.

As a rule, it should simply be a matter of pasting the code into a sidebar widget in your WordPress “Appearances” section.

You need to add a “Text” widget (or more than one, if you prefer – one for PayPal, one for the counter). In each, simply edit the text widget and paste in the code you’ve been given.

There *may* be a problem with some themes in which case it can get a little complicated. However, in the vast majority of cases, the above should work.
