How can I let WordPress give password when you sign up?

Question by : How can I let WordPress give password when you sign up?
I have a WordPress blog and when someone signs up, is it possible to have a option to create a password in the signup box instead of WP sending an email then they enter it and change the pasword?

Hi Luke,

I think the logic behind that is to limit automatic registrations from web bots by making the user validate an E-Mail. This works because no two users can have the same E-mail in WordPress.

In any case, here is one plug-in that may do what you want (I have not tested this):

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-password-register/

There may be others. You can do a search here:

Again, this is a bad idea since web robots could easily spam your site this way.

Can a random password for WordPress be generated and sent to my email each time I log on?

Question by Adam: Can a random password for WordPress be generated and sent to my email each time I log on?
When you set up WordPress for the first time a random password is generated then sent to my email. I would like to know if I can set up wordpress so that it changes and send me a new password each time I log in. This way I would always have a random password. If this is possible, is there an app that does this for email accounts or other user accounts?
Thanks in advanced.

The only thing I know of is to use the lost password feature.

BUT.

Changing a WordPress pass can be tricky. It doesn’t always work, then you have to physically go into the database and change it.
