How do I change my permalink structure on WordPress?

Question by Annie F: How do I change my permalink structure on WordPress?
I’ve been googling forever and I can’t seem to find it! It says go to settings and then there’s a link for Permalinks, but it’s not there anymore! How do I do this with the new wordpress updates?

Not sure what version of WordPress you are using. In the latest one 3.41 you can change permalinks by going to Settings and below this clicking the permalinks link. If you have not done so you may wish to update your wordpress to this version to see if it resolves the issue. If not, perhaps there is a conflict with one of your plugins or theme that is causing the issue…or something else???? To test plugins, you can disable them one at a time and then test things to see if it resolves the issue.

You can just copy and paste the following url:
    http://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin/options-permalink.php

Be sure to change mydomain.com with your own domain before pasting the url.

BEFORE you change your permalinks structure, install a plugin called Dean’s Permalink Migration. If you don’t, you’re going to break the links to your current posts and pages. I use it on my blogs and it always keeps them intact. If provided the URL below.

AFTER you install the plugin, the go to Dashboard: Settings: Permalinks is the 7th item in the menu.
