How to embed flickr video in a WordPress blog?

Question by TR: How to embed flickr video in a WordPress blog?
Wordpress doesn’t let you just insert the embed code for flickr video. For YouTube videos, I just use the code [youtube=]. Is there a similar code for flickr video?

Sadly most sites that have a standard for youtube have no flickr etc. availability. I don’t know anything about WordPress, but if you just use the embedding code from the video itself in the body of your blog it should run no problem ;) Mine did! If WordPress alows html code then you are fine. It just means that it can’t go in the “videos” section that’s all. The code can be taken from the “ embed” symbol just above the video as you see it in your flickr.

RSS? How do I publish a WordPress blog and have it automatically publish the same post on MySpace’s blog?

Question by pLace: RSS? How do I publish a WordPress blog and have it automatically publish the same post on MySpace’s blog?
I want to have it so when I post on my blog at WordPress, it will automatically post the same blog on my MySpace page. I know there is a way to do this with forums and bulletin boards – posting on WordPress and having it show up in the forums.

How can I do this on MySpace or Facebook?

Thank you so much in advance!

Typically cutting and pasting the URL link to your MySpace or Facebook accounts should work. IF not, you should research the WordPress FAQ page, or even the FAQ for MySpace and Facebook. Good luck.

How do you take the reply area off of a site using wordpress?

Question by Blue Eyes: How do you take the reply area off of a site using wordpress?
I have created the site the way that I want to, using wordpress but am not able to remove the reply to areas, as if it were a blog, on the site. Do you know how to remove that?

Best answer:

Answer by Greg
Hi Blue Eyes,

In WordPress administration, go to Settings > Discussion, and uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles “.

This will remove the comment areas for new posts.

To remove the comment area for existing posts, edit each post and uncheck “Allow comments” towards the bottom.

Depending on your design, you may want to create pages instead of posts. Pages are for static content and do not allow comments.

I hope this helps.

How to change a tumblr layout to work for WordPress?

Question by Jen: How to change a tumblr layout to work for WordPress?
A friend of mine made a brilliant Tumblr layout, but also wants to configure it for wordpress. Does anyone have any tips on how to do so?
We don’t want to change a whole site–we just want to modify a layout.

Similarly, we don’t want to do a whole new layout–we just want to make it so it’ll adapt to wordpress.
